YA Life Groups

We see regular committed community as one of the best ways to be cared for and grow in relationship with others and with Jesus. We have a range of many different life groups led by some amazing leaders – and meet in different locations throughout the week. So there will be one suited just for you! Our life groups generally include food, reading and discussing the bible and prayer.

If you are interested in finding a life group – please fill out this form and we would love to help connect you up with some groups that may suit you.

YA Gatherings

Our YA Gatherings are regular events (usually on Wednesday evenings) designed to inspire, encourage and challenge every young adult. Events may be worship and prayer gatherings, teaching nights, parties, social justice projects and everything in between! They are great opportunities to meet new people and find ways to get involved with the church. For news and details on upcoming events, check out our Facebook page –

We all gather at the beginning of the night to hang and eat food before breaking off into our many and various life groups (in our ‘pop-up lounge rooms). If you have recently moved to Brisbane for university or just finished high school – this is for you! contact us here for more info.

6pm in the Loft

Mentoring for men

Mentoring is a way of growing – of creating spaces in our lives in which we very deliberately seek to grow in God and seek to support others as they grow in Him. God didn’t design us to make our life journey alone, especially when it comes to growing in Him!

If you’re looking for a mentor, or offering to be a mentor, please fill out the relevant form below.

You can also download the form to print, then drop it at the info desk and we’ll be in touch.

We will suggest a mentor/mentoree for you, but the choice, after an initial meeting, will  be yours.

Men’s Groups

As Men we live in a world that pulls us in every direction …it demands our time and priority, at times its seems we are being pulled apart in trying to be all things to all men. “You can’t do anything about the length of your life, but you can do something about its width and depth” and to that end our Men’s groups seek to grow you as a disciple of Jesus, not doing life alone but in an environment where “ Iron Sharpens Iron as one man sharpens another”.

Men’s Group Launch

  • No cost

Register for the Men’s Group Launch.

What is Fight Club?

Gateway women

There are lots of activities and events just for women at Gateway: Women’s life groups, special events and the chance to serve regularly with others.

We run four women’s events a year – one a combined event with Ormeau campus and three local. These events are designed to be a place where women can connect with God and each other, and invite their friends.

If you’re a woman and want to know where you might fit at Gateway, please contact us by phone 32915900, email or fill out this form.

Sign up to stay in the loop on women’s events.

Running the mornings of Wednesday and Friday (with crèche), KYB – Know Your Bible – is a place where women can study the Bible and meet other likeminded women. With nearly 70 members, KYB continues to grow.

Studies revolve around a chosen part of the Bible and groups come together to share and discuss their ideas. The method brings understanding of Scripture in several ways: at home, in-group discussion, a group leader’s summary and in notes given at each lesson.

KYB instills a daily devotional pattern, trains and equips discussion leaders, and class leaders become trained biblical teachers.

To find out more about KYB, phone the church office on 3291 5900.

Married Life – Date Night – Friday 15th February at 6pm.

Too many couples don’t spend enough quality time together to build and strengthen their marriage. You know you should, you know you want to but you just don’t get around to it. That’s why we’ve created Date Nights. It’s a night when we encourage couples to attend our Mackenzie Campus for around 45 mins where you’ll receive quality input into your marriage by Andy Stanley and then go out on a date to a place of your choice.

  • Please note there is no child minding for this event, however our usual Kids and Youth programs will be operating.

Input on: Believe in your US –by Andy Stanley – via podcast.

Step 1. Get it into your diary and start to plan what you and your spouse could do together after our input time. BTW it’s Valentine’s Day week!

Step 2.  Register so we know you’re participating/attending.

Step 3.  Come to the Function Room at Mackenzie at 6pm on Friday 15th February. (This part is Free!)

Step 4. Go on your date at approx. 7pm. We’ve made the time, now you just have to choose where you will go. Enjoy!

Register for Married Life – Date Night.

Married Life – Event – Saturday 18th May

Our Married Life Event is held annually and is a great opportunity for every couple whether you’re engaged or have been married for decades to invest into your marriage. We create a place where we speak practically into marriage – where poor marriages can move towards health and good marriages can grow even stronger. Married Life Event features live music, guest speakers and great food at your Gold Class style table.

Registrations will open closer to the date.

The Marriage Course

The Marriage Course is for any couple who wants to invest in their relationship, whether you have been together 1 or 61 years and whether you have a strong relationship or are struggling.

Many say it feels like a date night.

You will be served with a candlelit meal, coffee, tea and dessert at a romantic table for two while listening to practical talks that are informative and fun, played on DVD.

A seven session course set in a fantastic atmosphere on Wednesday nights. There is never any group work and you will never be asked to share anything about your relationship with anyone other than your partner.

Over seven sessions you will discover practical tools to help you:

  • Understand each other’s needs.
  • Communicate more effectively.
  • Grow closer through resolving conflict.
  • Heal the ways you’ve hurt each other.
  • Recognise how your upbringing affects your relationship.
  • Improve relationships with parents and in-laws.
  • Develop greater sexual intimacy.
  • Discover each other’s love languages and much, much more!

Our next Marriage course begins on Wednesday the 20th of February 2019 at 6.30pm.

  • $160 per couple.
