Mentoring for men

Mentoring is a way of growing – of creating spaces in our lives in which we very deliberately seek to grow in God and seek to support others as they grow in Him. God didn’t design us to make our life journey alone, especially when it comes to growing in Him!

Whether you’re looking for a mentor, or offering to be a mentor, please fill out this online form.

You can also download the form to print, then drop it at the info desk and we’ll be in touch.

We will suggest a mentor/mentoree for you, but the choice, after an initial meeting, will  be yours.

Men’s Groups

As Men we live in a world that pulls us in every direction …it demands our time and priority, at times its seems we are being pulled apart in trying to be all things to all men. “You can’t do anything about the length of your life, but you can do something about its width and depth” and to that end our Men’s groups seek to grow you as a disciple of Jesus, not doing life alone but in an environment where “ Iron Sharpens Iron as one man sharpens another”.

  • Reconnected Man will take you on a journey to identify the marks of true manhood. Its not how strong, muscular, self-confident, and competent you are that makes you a real man, but how well connected you are in the key relationships of your life … your heavenly Father, wife, children, our earthly Fathers, other Men, and the kingdom of God  … all starting with re-connecting with your own heart
  • band-of-brothers-v2Band of Brothers groups are built around the support and accountability culture we have developed , focusing on growing you as a true disciple of Jesus and a disciple maker. A good next step for those who have done reconnected man.

To indicate your interest simply click here and complete the online form, ticking “Men” in the group type and we will follow up with you to answer any questions and facilitate the process..which will be as flexible as possible to work in with you.

Gateway women

There are lots of activities and events just for women at Gateway: Women’s life groups, special events and the chance to serve regularly with others.

We run four women’s events a year – one a combined event with Ormeau campus and three local. These events are designed to be a place where women can connect with God and each other, and invite their friends.

If you’re a woman and want to know where you might fit at Gateway, please contact us by phone 32915900, email or fill out this form.

Sign up to stay in the loop on women’s events.

KYB

Running the mornings of Wednesday and Friday (with crèche), KYB – Know Your Bible – is a place where women can study the Bible and meet other likeminded women. With nearly 70 members, KYB continues to grow.

Studies revolve around a chosen part of the Bible and groups come together to share and discuss their ideas. The method brings understanding of Scripture in several ways: at home, in-group discussion, a group leader’s summary and in notes given at each lesson.

KYB instills a daily devotional pattern, trains and equips discussion leaders, and class leaders become trained biblical teachers.

To find out more about KYB, phone the church office on 3291 5900.

The Marriage Course

The Marriage Course is for any couple who wants to invest in their relationship, whether you have been together 1 or 61 years and whether you have a strong relationship or are struggling. Many say it feels like a date night.

You will be served with a candlelit meal, coffee, tea and dessert at a romantic table for two while listening to practical talks that are informative and fun, played on DVD.

A seven session course set in a fantastic atmosphere on Tuesday nights. There is never any group work and you will never be asked to share anything about your relationship with anyone other than your partner.

Over seven sessions you will discover practical tools to help you:

  • Understand each other’s needs.
  • Communicate more effectively.
  • Grow closer through resolving conflict.
  • Heal the ways you’ve hurt each other.
  • Recognize how your upbringing affects your relationship.
  • Improve relationships with parents and in-laws.
  • Develop greater sexual intimacy.
  • Discover each other’s love languages and much, much more!

Our next Marriage course begins in July 2018.

On Tuesday 22nd May 2018 at 6.30pm we are hosting The Marriage Course Party in the Function Room at Gateway Mackenzie.

Come and celebrate the Marriage Course and hear some great stories. See how the Marriage Course can benefit and enhance your relationship.
