Neighbours is a Gateway ministry that supports refugees and asylum-seekers, as well as others who are experiencing disadvantage for so many other reasons across Brisbane.
We go out into our communities to where people are —where they live and work—to show they are valuable; they are seen, and they are loved by God.
We also offer practical help where we can.
Our Neighbours van is a mobile pantry with purpose and is stocked with some staple groceries and clothing items that we drive out to the community. People can choose the items they need and build friendships with our volunteers.
We work closely with other local organisations and government agencies to invite people who we can come alongside and support.
Going out on a regular basis in Logan we have been able to come alongside and support hundreds of people from many different nations and cultures, providing staple groceries and clothing, as well as a listening ear over some morning tea.
The Neighbours van heads over to the Bay Islands to bring regular support and friendship to those walking through a tough journey, as well as some practical help in the form of staple grocery items.
