Circle of Security Parenting™ program is grounded in decades of attachment research. It gives parents a new way of seeing their child’s behaviour as communication, not as “good” or “bad”. When parents can read those signals and respond in a secure way, children feel more secure, become more emotionally resilient, develop stronger self-esteem, and build healthier relationships. At the same time, parents often feel calmer, more confident, less guilty, and more connected to their children. It’s about building a secure, warm relationship that helps children thrive emotionally, and helps parents enjoy parenting more. The Circle of Security™ Program is for all parents, aiming to equip parents to develop strong relationships with their children, and raise healthy and happy children and respond to various different challenges that arise. We will meet as a small, supportive discussion group, and the 7 sessions (abbreviated delivery) will include teaching, reflection, discussion, practical tools, COS manual, and afternoon tea. Each week from 4.00pm-4.30pm we will enjoy afternoon tea. Child minding will be offered to under school-age children from 4.30pm, and school age children are invited to attend Gateway Ormeau Kids Club from 4.30-6.00pm.
