When heaven breaks through

Miracles are extraordinary acts of God that surpass human understanding, revealing His infinite power within our finite world. Each miracle serves as a testament to God’s active presence and boundless love, reminding us of His divine authority and holiness. As Tim Keller put it, “We modern people think of miracles as the suspension of the natural order, but Jesus meant them to be the restoration of the natural order.”

Miracles are glimpses of creation restored—a present fulfilment of God’s future promise to make all things new. In Scripture, miracles play a crucial role in God’s redemptive story. In the Old Testament, God empowered His prophets with miraculous signs, and in the New Testament, Jesus’s ministry displayed miraculous power as evidence of His Messiahship and the Kingdom of God breaking into the world.

His miracles of healing, peace, provision, deliverance, and restoration revealed the compassionate heart of God and pointed to the deeper spiritual truths of His Kingdom. Today, Jesus’s ministry of miracles invites His followers to participate through the power and authority He has given.

This series will explore how miracles are motivated by compassion for those in need; originate from divine revelation, not human reasoning; are activated by faith in God’s power within us; and are multiplied as we testify to God’s glory and goodness.
