Paul’s letter to the Romans is his powerful, theological message of the Gospel—God’s good news for all people. Though he hadn’t yet visited the church in Rome, he wrote with affection to a diverse community struggling with division between Jewish and Gentile believers.

Paul’s message centers on the truth that all humanity is lost in sin, yet through Jesus Christ, everyone—Jew and Gentile alike—can receive salvation, counted as righteous through faith alone.

Through the stories of Israel, from Adam to Abraham to the Exodus, Paul reveals how God’s work through Israel has brought about the ultimate hope for humanity in Jesus. In Christ, we find forgiveness, freedom, and unity, as members of a new family with a new purpose.

As redeemed people filled with God’s Spirit, we are invited to participate in God’s restoration of creation, with the promise that one day all things will be made new in Him.
