Do you have a passion for leading young people to encounter Jesus? Gateway Baptist Church is seeking a full-time Youth Pastor for our Mackenzie Campus to oversee dynamic ministries that disciple high schoolers, grow volunteer teams, and make a lasting impact in the next generation.
Gateway Baptist Church is looking for a full-time Youth Pastor for its Mackenzie campus to oversee and lead all aspects of Gateway’s ministry to high-school-aged young people at Mackenzie, as together we lead people to become fully devoted followers of Jesus.
Over 95 years ago, Gateway began as a Sunday school outreach to children, and throughout its existence, the church has had a very strong commitment to quality ministry to emerging generations. Gateway Youth currently consists of Youth Church – our Sunday morning ministry to high schoolers; Friday Night Youth – our Friday evening program based at the church, which includes small groups, input, and engaging activities; and an annual Youth Camp, which combines with youth ministries from our other campuses and regularly has over 250 participants.
The successful candidate for this position will be a high-capacity leader with experience and wisdom in ministering to young people and their families, as well as in leading and developing volunteer teams. They will have a passion for Jesus and the local church and will recognise the role they play in carrying culture and leading ministry in a large Baptist church. They will exhibit the ability to innovate, create vision, and lead change, while possessing the organisational skills needed to run a successful ministry. They will be a team player, carrying an encouraging attitude and living out our cultural values as part of the Mackenzie Pastoral Team.
This position is full-time (part-time options are negotiable), including all services on Sundays, and reports directly to the Mackenzie Campus Pastors. Previous experience working with youth is required, and both theological study and prior experience working in a Christian organisation are preferred. This role has a negotiable start date early in 2025, and a transition period alongside the existing Youth Pastor will be incorporated.
